While dining in our sunroom we happen to see a very large bird sail low across and found it setting in a Beach tree not far away. Grabbed the camera, attached the 150-600 lens and very slowly started to crank open the casement window just wide enough to fit the lens through, thinking that it may fly any minute. Took a few quick shots while siting/laying on the floor in a extremely cramped position! Couldn't take that anymore so grabbed the tripod and opened it in the lowest position possible. After all this caution, it really didn't seem to mind and stayed around for quite some time!
Excellent shots Swamp-Cork,it's a lovely bird.

Thanks for looking and glad that you like, Jim. We have several around the area and many nights listen to them calling. I had seen this young one several time with a adult, but the captures were subpar, but had been looking through them to try and salvage several, when the juvenile made it's appearance.

Thanks you so much, Angela , and really glad that you liked. Also really appreciate the smiley face and two thumbs up. Several weeks ago just before dark I was throwing a little bright yellow tennis ball for Bella and a Owl swooped down over it to, I suppose check it out, and Bella was ready to take it on. She is not very possessive about any of her toys except the balls. A similar incident happen when she was probably about seven month old and she ran the Owl out of our yard to the neighbors in spite of me frantically yelling for her to stop!

Thanks Pierre, and yes it certainly was. I had taken a few shots a few days earlier of one adult, accompanied by the juvenile, but they we not great to say the least, and had been considering taking another look to see if several could be salvaged, but this solved the problem. Thanks again and take care!
Thanks for the kind words, Linda, and yes we were delighted to see this one. We occasionally see them in the daytime, and also hear them calling during the night! Thanks again and take care!
