Thanks Donrent, appreciate your valued feedback. Dont have the stats available at the moment but I used a Nikon D 5100, Nikkor 55-300mm lens. I have always felt that when one comes in alignment with his/her creativity, the camera helps as well, providing some basic knowledge is utilized.

I appreciate you kindness. Thanks for the generous welcome.

Can anyone tell me if these photos of mine may warrant copyright...am working on that now, simply do not want the large stock companies taking advantage of the little guy, anymore. People take pride in their work to have Flickr or anyone else to steal them. Don't want that happening. Should we just not post or share? Please advise....

Unless you were posting photos that were for sale, why get so ruffel up ? If someone likes any of my photos, so be it... What I could never figure out is why when a food recipe is printed, its fair game for ANYONE to use... So what makes a photo any different ???

Good point, Don, suppose I should not have been so stringent with the beauty of keeping to myself. I apologize and thank you kindly for setting me on a better path. You are right, better to share! Thanks again!! :D

Good Morning and welcome to the hog, i am pretty new here myself and i am learning quite a bit from these guys. I too use the nikon d-5100 and love it. i have had mine about 2 months now.

I really don't understand the copyright stuff, Is there a process you go through to make it copyrighted or do you just stick your name on it. I really don't mind people using my photos, i put my name on them just to get my name out there. Does this make it copyrighted? I don't think so.

It is a mystery to me Norman, but sharing is what I am doing, had hopes of one day selling the work...not clear on the copyright stuff, I do know the D5100, has a Copyright section on stats of the settings from software related to 5100...not sure this helps though...perhaps we can walk through this at the same time....let me know what you learn, best of luck to ya...

From what i was just reading in order to copyright a photograph you have to register it through the library of congress. and that from what i understand you can do a group registration of however many you want but you have form where you list each and every image with a name. not sure of the price, the website has many different prices. from 35.00 dollars on up.

heres a link. http://www.copyright.gov/docs/fees.html

From what I know, if you put a watermark onto the photo, that is basically copywritting it...

Am I right or ??

From what i read and this is just from this morning so not a lot of research, if you post an image you are covered for the 1st ninety days that it is in public view. but after that you are not covered unless you get it registered. Basically if if is registered you can recoop any money that you lose from this image. (meaning legal fees to pursue and loss of any money that it may have made for you.0 However if not registered, and you want to pursue any punitive damage you will not get it. Basically all you can get is what the image is actually worth.

Here is another link from a lawyer. http://brandaideblog.com/copyright/what%E2%80%99s-your-copyright-worth-if-it%E2%80%99s-not-registered-prior-to-someone-stealing-your-work/
