I have no intention of getting the IV - not enough improvement, and the price is too high. I don't see the justification for the substantial increase. Canon and Nikon seem to maintain the same prices as models evolve.
I too am enjoying my RX100M3, and agree there is not enough improvement on the recently announced M iv to make me want to 'upgrade'.
I too love my Sony RX100MIII. If I did a lot of video, I'd get the IV.
As many of you know it's often hard to get unbiased advice from salespeople since they may get spiffs from manufacturers on certain products. Your advice and suggestions are much appreciated.
You can now get a brand new Fuji X100s from B&H well within your budget .....

Fixed 23 mm (35mm ff equiv) really is perfect for so much street/walking around use, small, unobtrusive, easy to carry (get a simple cord strap), simple menu system, great in low light ...... oh, and image quality to die for.
Guess what, I got one ! Yeah, this lens is so good that, rather than buy the 23mm lens for my X-T1, I bought this camera ...... gives me a second Fuji camera ! Strongly recommend ......

I had a Canon S120 and gave it to my daughter. It fit in a jacket pocket and I took it with me when I didn't want to carry my Nikons (now I've lightened up with the Olympus 5 Mark II). I would like to replace it with a camera that has at least as good image quality if not better and I'm looking for suggestions. I would like to be able to make enlargements of 12 x 18 and still put the camera in my jacket pocket. A viewfinder is not necessary (but RAW is). I'm willing to spend up to $1000 but obviously if I don't have to I can always use the extra money on the 75 mm Olympus lens I "need". Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I know I am weighting in late, but the Olympus TG-4 shoots RAW, can take both shock and water, has a 25 - 100 mm f2 - 4.9 lense, and has some lens accessories. The camera sells for $349 on sale ($399 normally) which would leave you nearly the $699 for the 75 mm f1.8 since it is on sale right now.
Thanks. Late works for me.
