Mine work fine but you may need to update those drivers from the video editor's website to be compatible with WIN10. A lot of second tear companies are a bit slow in generating and posting new drivers for brand new OS systems.

All programs are working better than before for me.

[quote=Hmoore]We loaded it on 4-year old Dell that had 7 on it. Also on a Dell laptop that had 7.

It works fine on the desktop, but on laptop the videos would not play in the "movies and TV" link or in Windows Media Player. I did a quick fix for my wife by installing freeware (the VLC Player).

The ability for Window Media Player to play DVDs went away with Windows 8 and you needed another software program to play them. I use the VLC player on my laptop now with Windows 10 and while I ran Windows 8 too.

Microsoft deleted the MEDIA PLAYER from WIN 8 HOME and WIN 8.1 HOME and only included it in their PRO editions. The same holds true for this WINDOWS 10 version.

Yes...you need to download some form of DVD player or BlueRay player in any version that's not PRO. Microsoft will offer an APP for this function though but will charge you for it through the MICROSOFT STORE.

As far as any TV or other video functions, you should check on new and updated drivers from the company website of the program since this is not a MICROSOFT program. I suspect the makers of this program will try to sell you a new version that works with WIN10 if they are second tear companies rather than give away the new modified drivers on their website as AMD and NVIDEA have done.

When there's alterations or improvements, they come to you through updates and you can't turn off updates like in previous WINDOWS iterations since both security and program updates will come as downloads and in background. I'm not even sure they will tell you when they send out updates. i can't find the old listing for "Installed Updates" anywhere so they may have eliminated it all together.

The inability to turn off updates ONLY applies to Home versions, as those are the slackers who often don't keep their updates current and cause excess trouble shooting problems for Microsoft. So, not sorry and not surprised to see Microsoft mandate full update control.

You have the ability to control updates on the Pro versions of Window 10 upgrades which would be automatic on the Pro versions of Windows 7.

Not as bad as some seem to have misunderstood.

I'm scratching my head over this one. I installed Windows 10 yesterday and it was working fine. Today, I fire up the PC and get a message about scanning some cryptic volume name and when done, I'm back at Windows 8.1! It is currently downloaded windows 10 a second time, although it is much slower than when I did it at 5AM yesterday. (30 min to download the whole thing yesterday, many times slower than that today, a Saturday).

If you don't want all the extras they can be checked no during Custom Install as opposed to Express Install. Also The updates can be turned off and on manually through the power shell. I updated yesterday and turned off updates. I think it works fine now. Adobe CS6-64bit, Stellarium, Open Office, my Canoscan 8800 scanner, my HP laser printer, Chrome, desktop icons, all were there and working on Win 10 64bit. Don't want any updates, no feed back to MS, no tracking, MS Apps, ad choices, bells and whistles etc. All those were turned off in the custom install.
Here's how to turn updates off and back on:

{Run a cmd.exe command prompt as administrator.}

{From the command prompt window start up a Windows PowerShell}

C:\windows\system32>PowerShell.exe
Windows PowerShell
Copyright (C) 2014 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

{Enter these three commands in this order in the power shell.}

PS C:\windows\system32> stop-service wuauserv
PS C:\windows\system32> set-service wuauserv -startup disabled
PS C:\windows\system32> get-wmiobject win32_service -filter "name='wuauserv'"

{System will verify updates are disabled}

ExitCode : 0
Name : wuauserv
ProcessId : 0
StartMode : Disabled
State : Stopped
Status : OK

....{To restart the windows automatic updates run a cmd.exe command prompt as administrator. }

{From the command prompt window start up a Windows PowerShell}
{Enter the following 3 commands in the power shell in this order}

PS C:\windows\system32> set-service wuauserv -startup manual

PS C:\windows\system32> start-service wuauserv

PS C:\windows\system32> get-wmiobject win32_service -filter "name='wuauserv'"

{System will verify automatic updates are back on}

ExitCode : 0
Name : wuauserv
ProcessId : 916
StartMode : Manual
State : Running
Status : OK

{Exit the power shell and the cmd.exe window ...}

PS C:\windows\system32> exit

C:\windows\system32>exit

I too love windows 10. has the best off 7 and 8. Welcome back start menu, I missed you. No more annoying charms and other hidden windows that poped up whenever my pointer got to close. I used to have trouble with videos stopping every 10 seconds to buffer up, now no problems. I did not wait to be notified but clicked on the window symbol in the notification bar and poof an hour and a half later I was ready to go. PC world had an article that Cortina is programed to give some humorous ansers to non program questions and statements like meaning of life (42) etc, going to throw some science fiction at it, If you type open the pod bay doors hal see what happens

Thanks for the comments. I'd like to add my opinion that even DOS 5 beats Windows 8.

I'd make that DOS 0.01! :lol:

Flawless! I am enjoying it very much. The only minor problem is locating where the new function locations are placed. Not a big problem, as they are in fact logical locations. You will have to import from Explorer onto Edge your bookmarks etc. I really do like the new browser.
