Here lately i have been playing with textured backgrounds, adding them into some of my old barn images. i would add them in and use different layer modes (multiply, darken, screen) to blend them together. so i thought i would show you what i came up with. I personally like the effect and thought i would get your opinion on whether it works.

I really like 1&2. Two being the better one for me. I prefer the photo in number three but the PP is way to busy for me.

I like the 1st and 3rd one I think I would undo it if I printed them on canvas though since canvas will give it the texture. other than that they look like nice paintings on canvas, nice effect.

Norman, I like all three of the textured photos. I think treatments such as adding texture can add visual interest for the viewer. I bet all three original photos look great. Old barns and neglected buildings are good subjects for a photographer.

Nice. When you blend - think less is more - try Color Dodge or Linear Dodge too

Love the effect. I get a dream-like state, as if to go back in time and be able to view the time as it was, but slightly fogged, as to give the feeling that we really shouldn't be there.
