Anyone using Pro Show Producer to create slide shows? I watched one made by a photo club member and was seriously impressed. He said it's pretty easy to use but the promo videos I've seen make it look fairly complicated with lots of graphics options. Also, I have a 4 year old PC with 6 gig of RAM and standard video capability. Not sure what the program requires.

you can start with ProShow Gold then upgrade if you need to. BTW they have very helpful customer service.

You should go to www.photodex.com and learn about their products. I would suggest you look at ProShow Gold to start with. It is a very powerful program for $69.95. It is a little brother of the Producer, which cost about $300.00. After two years with ProShow Gold they will let you upgrade to Producer for about $90.00. You don't say what processor you have. However, your processor and your memory will play the role during the rendering. Otherwise you are good to go.

Fantastic program! I used ProShow Gold for quite a few years, then went to Producer. Producer is a much deeper program, a bit more of a learning curve, but if I can do it, anyone can.

I've used quite a few slideshow packages over the years and NONE even come close to slideshow Gold or Pro. I started with Gold then upgraded a year later to Pro and never looked back.

All those I have shown have echoed also my feelings. You can't go wrong with Gold or Pro.

Yes, it's a great program. It can do an awful lot, but that means you have to learn how to use it. It's very flexible in terms of fades and music.

Just one more comment.

If you are already are working with Photoshop or something similar than you are already familiar with masks and layers. If so, you are pretty much ready to start with some interesting effects.

Otherwise as some have said you may have a learning curve.

It's a great program, I've been using ProShow Producer for several years to document my travels. I continue to learn how to improve my skills with it and it can really help in getting your creative juices flowing. I keep my ProShow slide shows at youtube.com/dbeifeld if your interested.

Same here. I like to create slide shows that sometimes include short video clips and are accompanied by music. Program works well for this.

If you want to be sophisticated with your music or narration, you can manipulate it or edit it in a free fantastic program Audacity from http://audacityfreedownload.org/

Are you aware that the latest version of ProShow Producer has a library of "free" royalty-free music available? Of coarse you have to purchase ProShow first.
