Flagstaff is a beautiful place. Not quite as hot as the rest of hell.

We were through there a couple of times, but didn't stop. We'll check out the area. Thank you.

As long as you are in or near Scottsdale check out the Superstition range. Not just Lost Dutchman State Park but also some of the trails in to the interior - depending on what you are up for physically.

Not much of a hiker these days, but can do a bit. Thank you.

You don't say what kind of photography you are into but if you are interested in history, beautiful scenery & animals, Death Valley NP might be of interest to you though it is about a 6.5 hr drive from Scottsdale. It is not a place I would visit in the summer due to the heat but the winter months are a great time to visit. If you are into some hiking, there are beautiful slot canyons which is where you will see more of the wildlife. Some are more strenuous hikes than others. Check with the rangers. Another option is Joshua Tree NP which is about 3-3.5 hrs away. They say the Joshua trees will be extinct in our lifetime due to the global warming, so now is the time to go. Again, beautiful scenery, animals & hiking.

Thanks. Both of those places are on my short list. We've not been to either.

There's lots more that I wish I'd seen but can vouch for these.

Another great list. Thank you!

If you are interested in wild horses there is a herd of about 200 along the lower Salt River just east of Fountain Hills on the Indian Reservation. You will have to purchase a parking pass which is $5.

We definitely are and will check that out. Thank you!

Lake Havasu and the London Bridge

Thank you! Will add them to my rapidly growing list. Couple months may not be nearly long enough. What a marvelous state.

You certainly have seen a lot after only one winter here.
You should consider starting a subscription to Arizona Highways, there are always good suggestions in there. Plus excellent photography.

I have one issue and can't remember how I acquired it. A subscription is a great idea. Will do. Thank you!

Downtown Tucson, very walkable, has very interesting old and new architecture. The St. Xavier mission south of Tucson is an outstanding place to visit. For a terrific evening of 5-star family fun music and comedy entertainment, try the Gaslight Theatre on Broadway in Tucson.

My wife and I really enjoyed the Native American sites that are all over Arizona. Some are on Indian lands and require admission fees, some are in parks that are free. This list is far from complete, but be sure to see Antelope Canyon, Vermilion Cliffs, Pyramid Lake, Montezuma’s Castle, Montezuma’s Well, V-Bar-V Heritage Site. The last three are near Sedona.

We've done both lower and upper Antelope Canyon and managed to get some really great shots. The others we haven't seen, but definitely will. Thank you!

I have lived here since 1972 and haven't seen it all yet. Buy the book
"Day Trips from Phoenix" and do them all. Some of the most beautiful scenery is found simply driving country roads (dirt ones).

Will order the book. Thanks for the suggestion!

US 93,from Wickenburg up to I-40 passes through variety of desert vegetation (including a small Joshua Tree forrest) and geomorphic terrain, with plenty of side trips. Take water and food. Don't drink the water from the Hassayampa River!

Thank you!

We drove to Tucson for the Desert Museum, but spent no time there and didn't see anything of the city. Will put these on my list. Thank you!
