Just buy a house! You will not see, or photograph all there is to this beautiful state in two years. There is justo much. ☺️

I would consider doing just that if it weren't for the hot summers. Can't deal with that :-(

If you choose The North Rim of t he Grand Canyon, stay a coupe of days in the area and venture north in Utah and visit Bryce Canyon NP andZion NP both world class and unique. Photo ops beyond belief.

Didn't mention that in my op, but we're planning on going to Utah April 1 to do the 5 national parks before returning to Michigan. Thank you.

if you don't mind a day (or two) trip, explore New Mexico also.

Good possibility there when the weather warms up a bit. Thanks.

Hoodoos in the Chiricahua Mtns, volcanic field ENE of Douglas should have a lot of wildflowers this year. Then you will not be too far from Bisbee and Tombstone.

We're in that area right now and have just done Tombstone, Bisbee, and the Chiricahua Mts. Nice area! Thank you.

That would be a hard sell for the wife. :D

Not my wife. She's willing to try new things at least once for the experience.

If still there, drop by Turkey Creek Road where my 2nd cousin is buried, "Johnnie" Ringo.

If you are into ghost towns, there are many worth exploring (Oatman and Chloride come to mind.). Also I don't think anyone has mentioned Organ Pipe NP. The drive from Ajo to Tucson is also quite scenic.

Last winter my wife and I tried snowbirding for the first time. We spent the winter using Scottsdale, Arizona, as a base and traveled extensively for purposes of photography. We both loved the state and would like to return next winter. In that my main interest is photography, I'm wondering what notable places we may have missed and whether there are a sufficient number of them to occupy our time in the months of February and March.
Any suggestions for photo opps from those more familiar with the state would be most appreciated. Following is a list of the places we visited and photographed last year.

Apache Trail, Sedona, Verde Valley Canyon Railroad trip, Monument Valley, Canyon De Chelly, Petrified Forest, Painted Desert, Horseshoe Bend, Upper & Lower Antelope Canyon, Sonoran Desert Museum, Desert Botanical Gardens, Jerome, Glen Canyon Dam, South Rim Grand Canyon.

I lived in AZ for 9 years and still have places on my list. 2 months might not be enough
time!

The San Xavier Mission south of Tucson is a must, further south the Tumacacori NHP is another old Spanish mission worth stopping at. Old Tucson studio can be fun with views that you might recognize from the movies. Speaking of fun, Tombstone is a tourist trap in the true meaning of the word but it is an interesting one and if you get that far south in AZ it shouldn't be missed. But, photo ops? Not so much. If you do go that far, go a bit farther to Bisbee. For landscapes there is no end of possibilities in Arizona. The best guide I can think of for that is a subscription to Arizona Highways magazine. Whatever you do ENJOY!
