I purchased a Panasonic LUMIX LX7 which is an excellent "travel"
camera. Plus the quality of the photos is better than that of my
Olympus Evolt 500. Happy travels.

???? The advantage of a bridge camera is that you have all the exposure capabilities of a dslr, but only one lens. That's why I'm going to take a bridge camera if I ever go to Europe. I've seen what the Panasonic Lumix series can do. Why would I want to lug around anything more?

I like my bridge camera. It has a hot shoe so I can add a big flash for large spaces.
