Do you think the Pro Optic adapter gives a cleaner image? I've got the Fotodiox FD => EOS adapter, and I'm not that thrilled with the sharpness. My kit lenses that came with my T3 are better. Is it just a difference in the old glass vs. new glass, or would the Pro Optic adapter be better for IQ?

I am sending these 7 photos for you to see how the Optic adapter worked on mt 7D. They will be marked as 200 mm.300 mm.600 mm Vivitar Series 1 FD mirror lens. All focusing as you know has to be hand done so that sometimes can be a little hard. I'm 81 and my eyes aren't the best at my age. Check the download for better results. Hope this answers your question. By the way all these photos were taken hand held,...Rich

Thanks for posting this ....I too have some really good FD lens...That I would like to use....Don't mind the manual focus or the manual settings..

So specifically which good FD glass are you referring to? Also, which camera bodies do you want to use them on?

There are options, but it isn't a quick, clean, cheap and simple solution.

Bigwolf40 has demonstrated what can be done with a relatively low cost 'optically corrected' adapter.

This pic was taken with a T3i using an adapted FD135mm F/2.0 lens using the EdMika modification that replaces the lens mount and does not need any additional corrective glass to achieve infinity focus. There is some color fringing that hasn't been corrected for. This is pretty much SOOC except for a little crop.

Apologies, I was referring to the post by TREBOR77 for the lenses etc. You (Rich) have supplied that info previously, and are clearly getting some good results...

Take care. :-)

I have adapters for several types of manual lenses on my micro four thirds cameras. Corner sharpness is never a problem, and the lenses are dirt cheap.

I was doing this back in 1981 with my Pentax Auto 110 SLR, so I have a few decades of experience.
