I spent the afternoon shooting around Northeast Montana today and here are a few of the scenes that I captured in Roosevelt County.

BigDave,

I looked at your flickr photos. You have better shots there. The first two here would be more interesting with a better sky. Maybe an oncoming storm. Also you have to much clutter. Move in, get tighter, eliminate anything that doesn't add to the shot. I think you could have explored number two. Close-ups of weathered wood can make for some great compositions and texture.

Having been raised in Montana there are certain areas that are photogenic and others that one has to hunt for a picture. The building becomes interesting buy decreasing the shadows in Photoshop. It opens up the detail of the construction where what it shown is a dark silhouette. Of course that could be what the photographer wanted and I am off base. The same probably holds true for the broken rour wheeler.
