I guess this is where a wing and a prayer or two come in handy
When it is not your time to go
On Thursday, September 4, 2014 7:08 PM: A magnificent piece of flying. There was no way he could level the plane as he had no lift on the right wing.
So he put it on its side forced the nose up, added all the power he had, turning the fuselage into a wing sufficient to check the rate of drop.
Can anyone say Holly Crap. And this is not a stunt but done by a stunt pilot.
When he was close enough to earth, he flattened the plane and dropped like a rock but on his landing gear.

Sorry but it is fake, I saw on the internet of how the video was made. It does look real though.

Well that really sucks don't it. Just another proof you can't believe the internet. Thanks for letting me know.

I have seen it before. It was proven, that it is combination of a real plane and model plane. It was also proven, that it wouldn't be possible to fly like that.

Yep, under some circumstances, some planes will stay in the air with one wing, if the pilot is good and knows what to do.
Have you seen the pictures and read the story of the Israeli F-15 pilot who lost almost all of one wing in a collision during combat training and brought his plane home on max thrust and the lift provided by the 15's wide body form? They said he knew his wing was damaged but couldn't see it so he didn't know he had lost all of it and his wingman didn't tell him until they were on the ground.
I believe they mentioned something about him vowing to never go into combat in anything but a 15.

Thanks as I just found that out. You can not believe anything on the net these days.

That is really cool but I have been informed that this video is a fake. Probably came from some jerk who watched the real thing and phonied this one out. It's getting harder and harder to keep the lies straight on the net.

On You Tube there is a six minute video of him telling his story with simulations and some shots taken in air by his wingman and on the groung at his airbase. The right wing is just some ragged metal and braces sticking about a foot out of the 15's wide body. He made it 10 miles and landed using max thrust to keep his speed up and get lift from the body.

The F-15 is an awesome plane. I can see why a pilot would only want to fly this plane in combat.

Something was posted online that wasn't true?! Oh, no!
My grandson is an airline pilot. When he saw this video he was so impressed with how well the faking had been done, because as he said immediately, it is totally impossible to fly any plane that has just one wing. When you actually stop to think about it anyone should realise it has to be a fake.

I haven't seen this, but it is believable. The F15 is one of the few planes which has more thrust than its weight - in other words, it can fly vertically straight up without having to 'zoom' first to build up speed..
The last frames of the video showed only the good wing, which was a little suspicious. Would have thought that it would be much more dramatic if the torn side was visible.
