Well I have the Canon version and I like it. The colors are great and even though it does not have image stabilization, it works well.

Thanks Mike. The consensus seems to be "buy it". Travelling to the States next month, and will buy it there.

Just in case nobody's mentioned it- it's for APSC cameras, not full frame.

I have the f3.5 version in Sony mount, it is a very good lens.
If you have a Sony Alpha 99 you can still use it but at the equivalent 15-30 focal length (same equivalent focal length as with an APSC format camera)

My experience is with Canon, not Nikon, but I've used the lens on two Canon APS-C bodies, and am well pleased with the results. I use it for most of my landscape shots.

You don't need a built in stabilization for a small zoom as this As even hand holding at 1/30 of a sec would not be a problem . So it would be a built in waste of money . If you could find one .

I have the Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 HSM. It's very sharp with good contrast. There is noticeable barrel distortion at 10mm, but that is common with ultrawides, and it goes away quickly when you zoom. I'm very happy with mine, and I recommend it.

I like mine, but if I had to do it over, I would get an f4 lens.

Hi:

Anyone had any experience (or thoughts) re the Sigma 10 - 20 mm for Nikon. It seems my GAS may be leaning in that direction

I have it for my crop sensor Sony, and the images are very good. And then I picked up 20mm f2.8 prime for my full frame Sony A99. This would be the equiv of 13mm on the 10-20mm sigma with the crop sensor camera. And I have to conclude that the results from the 20mm prime exceed the results from the 10-20 sigma. This is not to say bad things about the 10-20. Its just that 20mm prime is even better.

I have the Sigma 10-20mm for Canon and wish I used it more. Works great.
