I mentioned a few days ago that I came around a bend at 6:15 PM and saw a photographer with his tripod and camera set up in the middle of the road. Below you can see what he thought was so important. He must have been there for over fifteen minutes working on a shot of these steps.

Is that constatina wire? Is it there to keep people in or out?

It's just the vines without any leaves. At first glance it does look a little like concertina wire.

Darn! You caught me! Actually, I pulled way over onto the shoulder, turned on my flashers, and got a shot in less than a minute. Of course, you won't see my shot hanging in a gallery, where his will probably wind up.

Actually, my first thoughts were whether the house was occupied.

It's an interesting subject, but not worth risking life and limb for.
I used to work on the railroad and you would be amazed at the number of numbskulls who set up in the track area to photograph passing trains.

Now there's a word you don't hear too much any more ... but sounds most appropriate for someone setting up shop in the railroad tracks! Apparently no concept of how long it takes to stop a train ...

Over a mile for the longer units easily to stop. Usually around 1.5 - 2 miles. Smaller ones usually .75 of a mile. I have relatives who used to work on the railroad too and heard a lot of horror stories about it besides the good stories / memories.
