You've been watching too many re-runs of Seinfeld.

I'm sure they all were demolished.
It just seemed ironic that the Letterman set was done within 24hrs. of his departure.

We all had our likes & dislikes for each but the old guard is now all gone. Hopefully the new will be better.
I agree with those who feel the shows became compromised when the personal political views of the host infiltrated the set.
I will now cyst & decease as this has become Ad Nauseam.

Hopefully cease and desist, not decease! Or maybe you meant cyst and disease. Of course some of the elderly curmudgeons around here are totally overdue in the deceasing department.

Am I, Ear Worms, to assume that anyone who counters to your lack of tolerance should pull the covers over their head and shout, "Goodbye Cruel World?" You exact a high cost for the privilege of countering to your narrow mind or lack of memory. Seems, when the Nets put this thing together, years ago, comedy was for fun, non political and SNL, we all waited for it, was where the politicians got the (Good Old Louisiana description) Red Ass??!!

We have traded fun for political correctness. You can't have both. So, we have to stop bitching about this guy or that guy not being funny. Even Johnny Carson wouldn't be funny in today's atmosphere.

Well, I guess I'm safe here. I never traded political correctness for fun. I am extremely non-PC.
If one cannot laugh at themselves then it is all a loss.

I still say, "Merry Christmas"

Well, I am the same way, but we don't have our own TV show or high profile exposure. We are retired and we can't be fired for saying "Merry Christmas." So, it is unfair for some people here to criticize Letterman or Leno for not being funny anymore. Maybe that is the reason why those guys bailed out.

Boy, oops man, I can't wait for this thread to die! Amazing how such a simple post, basically a reminder to any who were interested in the program would turn into another political diatribe.

Do whatever you want, but just don't do it to me.
Personally though, I think you should wear a pair of underwear on your head, specifically women's panties.

The obvious thing about television is that it is mostly a colossal wasteland. The nice thing about though, is that we don't have to watch any of it. If one station isn't showing what you like, pick up the remote and press the appropriate button.

However, you can't tune into a program which used to be available.

Much "heritage humor" is now on You Tube and of course all the recycled jokes you can handle on UHH.

Mostly true.
Amazingly though, a lot of old time programs are available, on the TV, YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, and DVD.

One of the FIOS channels I get has recently started running a few of the great old shows again.

Such as Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock, Taxi, All in the Family & Barney Miller.

Jobs
Jobs...

I know. And that's where I go if there is nothing worthwhile on History channel.
