Look for your feedback on this. Since I haven't had any issues with the 7D2 I'll wait to see what it seems to rectify/solve before I update the firmware.
This is off the UK Canon site.
Firmware Version 1.0.4 incorporates the following fixes:
1. Fixes a phenomenon in which the camera's AF function may not operate properly at a focal length of approximately 100mm when used with the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens.
2. Fixes a phenomenon in which, in rare instances, the reduction of the flicker effect cannot be achieved when in AI servo AF mode, despite the "Anti-flicker shoot" function being set to "Enable".
3. Fixes a phenomenon in which the Picture Style settings may not be applied to the captured image when the camera is set to custom shooting mode C1, C2 or C3.
4. Fixes a phenomenon in which, in very rare cases, the first still image captured in live view mode may not record the correct date and time.
5. Fixes a phenomenon in which, in very rare cases, image noise may appear in JPEG images when brightness or contrast is corrected by the Auto Lighting Optimizer function.
I too have not had any probs yet, but havn't had it long.
I havent had any phenomenon problems :)

Did find any description on Canon's website, but some specifics can be found here:

i got mine on the Canon USA SITE
This website says do not worry about where you download from. "Dont be worried because you are downloading the firmware from Canon Asia instead of Canon US or EU it is the same piece of software."

After some preliminary testing with the 24-105L and Tammy 150-600, I can say that the firmware upgrade helped the focusing issues with the Tamron-ON THE LONG END-can't get a decent pic at 150mm, now. I notice NO IMPROVEMENT shooting anything other than "One Shot" and using single point focus. I'm pretty sure this firmware release addresses strictly what is mentioned in the release notes, and none of the other AF issues that have been mentioned on the many different forums . This camera continues to be one of the biggest disappointments I've had in a decade. Guess I'll send it to Canon and hope for the best-but expect the worst. Saves on further disappointment that way.

Reads your thoughts?
Downloaded/installed the 1.04 update from Canon yesterday, it semi-addressed a problem I was having using a Kenko 1.4 with my 100/400L. Previously I was getting an error 01 about 80-90% of the time when shooting high contrast scenes, now seems that has dropped to about 40-50% of the time. Using the lens/tcon with manual focus and IS turned off clears the problem of the error but shooting action without AF and IS is not easy at 560mm, so the lens/tcon combo is too erratic and still not worth the aggravation of missing a shot. The update didn't do anything for the use of my 100L macro and the Kenko 1.4, the camera still locks up, and you have to remove the battery just to shut down the camera. So far cannot tell if it has helped/hindered anything else, still like the camera and it works perfectly otherwise, maybe the next firmware update will fully address the Kenko compatibility.

BUMP!
If you do not have issues with your 7DmkII, you may wish to hold off the fw update. There are reports of cameras locking up.
It may be nothing, it may be something. We know there have been some focus issues, we haven't seen a definitive cause or solution posted from Canon so far as I know. The possibility that a fw update might fix it has been raised, but I have not seen that confirmed.
FW updates can fix things, but they can also break things, so unless you have a problem, it might be good to wait and watch for a while until more information surfaces.
Good luck

Have you tried the micro adjust on each specific lense to fix the focus problem your having at 150 on the tamron? Friend of mine bought the tamron and could not get a sharp picture with it. After trying everything decided to take off the uv haze filter she bought (I think it was bowers or bower filter) that fixed her problem. If you have a filter on it try removing it. And try the micro adjust.
I used the lens align target and focus tune software and found my 70-200 2.8 was off +10. Big improvement in focus and sharpness. Another friend had 7d2 with tamron 150-600 and was having issues also until used the lens align.
Hope this helps
