Sounds like you are waxing nostalgic, as I sometimes do.
So did you like it or hate it?
I remember looking at ads in Popular or Modern Photography magazines back in the late '60's for the Practina cameras before I bought my first SLR, which I think was a Topcon Unirex.

I couldn't wait every month for my Popular and Modern Photography magazines! Brings back fond memories. My buddy and I tried to recreate many of the effects and moods that we found in those pictures. And I had GAS back then, too! ;-)

Since the OP never confirm whether or not he was asking about the worst camera or the most hated camera. Since the title said the most hated camera so I would name my most hated camera and it's the Nikon F5. It's far from the worst camera I own in fact it's a very good camera but I am so disappointed about it. I spent $2000 for it new in 2002. The matrix meter while works very well for slide and would works well for digital too doesn't work well for color negative film which I use most often. With a very flat subject of course it's correct but when the scene is contrasty it always go for the highlight and leaves my shadow way underexposed. The TTL flash system which also works well for fill flash always underexpose when the flash is the main light source. The controls why very logical but for me it's very slow to use. When changing mode I never could remember the PSAM order and always turn the wrong way.The same thing with the aperture and shutter speed controls and with the 1/3 stop increment which is good but it makes for changing very slow. I amost always overshoot trying to turn the wheels quickly and then having to turn them back. I packed it in its original box and put it away and bought a good used F3HP to use. Today I am happy with the Nikon Df and all it's old fashion dials.

Hi Bebu, I went back through and found the question of most hated or worst camera... sorry I didn't see that until today. I was busy with Mother's Day. I have looked at the Df many times on line, have never held one in my hands. I think that could be my dream camera, but it is out of my price range for now. I am still busy trying to figure out all that my D610 will do! ;-)

Every camera has it's good points, and it's bad points. Once I am no longer using a camera, I do my best to forget about it-unless asked about it by someone-and I concentrate on using the camera I have.

Do you receive an actual Modern Photography and, if so, from where. The original Modern Photography merged with Popular Photography in the late 1980's. Thank you.

My subscriptions to Modern Photography and Popular Photography ended in the late 70's after I had sold my cameras to support my growing family. I didn't even know that the two magazines had merged! Thank you for that information. I have only recently gotten back into photography with the purchase of my D3200 last summer. So much has changed.

But some cameras are rather lacking on good points. Historically, there have been cameras which were simply poorly designed. Prone to failure, such as film advance mechanism constantly jamming. It's hard to love a camera that is unreliable. Or sometimes the camera may be just too troublesome to operate to be practical. Controls that are difficult to manipulate, for example.

On the other hand, For the collector, Some "crappy" cameras are none the less interesting, if less than usefull!

Most hated and returned: fujifilm finepix x100
Poor focusing, wonky software, crazy menu.
Many others returned it as well.

If you are sincerely trying to help someone you must consider all possibilities. It is obviously not the camera, unless you have one in a thousand lemons. I should have mentioned turning of digital zoom and many more reasons for blurry pictures.

I will not tell you to keep your fingers off the keyboard but don't touch mine.
Tell us about your least favorite camera. :XD:

Your just surmising , not helping

I had almost forgotten. . . I was shopping in Big Lots (a close out discount store) and there was this Vivitar bridge camers VS1527-BLACK 16MP. I never imagined anything could be so bad. It is actually a very cheap point and shoot, housed in a bigger package to make it appear that it is something. Horrid camera, most of the pictures were unusable. Couldn't get the date stamp to remain off, had trouble getting the pop up flash to latch back down. Really disgusting camera.
Fortunately for me I was able to sell it on Craigslist, at a loss.
