I have just acquired a new Canon 7D Mark II and would like to find a GOOD printed manual. The included printed manual has small print and is incomplete. The disk included in the package is much better but is 320 pages and I don't want to print it. So UHH ers any suggestions.

Amazon lists six user guide books for the Canon 7D Mrk II - take your pick.

Whenever I buy a new camera, I always get the Field Guide. Any by David Busch are excellent. His series of compact field guides are must-haves in my opinion.

I looked at the David Busch Field guide and it is out of my price range at $999.11. Must be a miss print.

That must be the gold plated edition! It's around $14-$15.

Mike, I looked on Amazon and on David Bosch's site and both gave the same price. Put it in my cart and still 999.11
maybe that price includes a week of instructions. I will check it out later. bud

You're right! Mine is a mark I - the field guide is $14 and change. Mark II is $1000 give or take. I wonder how many they sell at that price?

I don't know what is going on with the printed books on the 7D Mark II. I bought the printed manual for the 7D Mark II through a company call "manualink.com" It is actually the full Canon printed manual, and only cost about $35.00. Actually it has been a great help in learning the camera, although it is a bit large to take in the field.

Thanks Mike, I found one site that listed the book but had a notice on the price that said pricing error. I will wait a while and check it out. bud

I like David Busch's books, but he told me his publisher was going out of business - here's an earlier UHH post: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-287934-1.html

Of the remaining 4 publications on Amazon, one is a beginner's guide, and the For Dummies book got some bad reviews. That leaves two, if you want something comprehensive. I haven't read Jeff Revell's book, so I won't comment on it, but I downloaded the $9.99 Kindle book by Douglas Klostermann. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Mark-Experience-Photography-Operation-ebook/dp/B00R58CF7G/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1430242943&sr=1-1&keywords=canon+7d+mark+ii. It's well-written and covers pretty much everything. I'm kind of old fashioned - I prefer paper, but in this case the Kindle was a good choice and is searchable, as well.

We were all hoping for a David Busch publication for our 7dMk2s and it was listed on Amazon along with the field guide as a pre order for the longest time. Then when the stated date available came and went it was obvious that there was a problem. Long story short...publisher had backed out and a few weeks later it was not showing as available for pre order and then with a price of $999 which I am assuming simply holds it's place in the Amazon jungle until the problems are sorted. I found the Cheat sheet useful but the other publications not so much. I would read the reviews before you actually order anything that's out there now.

I just download the manual onto my Nook. Easy to take along and if I get tired of reading the manual I have about a hundred other books on there to read. You can do the same with any tablet or laptop. Or, I can just log onto Barnes & Noble and download a different manual, for a price of course, if I wish.

You could obtain the same manual from Canon.USA for no price at all.

That's where I get my manuals from. They are also on the disk that comes with the camera. Unlike Kindle is, or was, perhaps, Nook accepts PDF files from other sources.
