I ordered a couple of books about the Canon 7d II through Amazon by David Busch. Both are published by Cengage Learning publishing. When they hadn't shipped a couple of weeks after their availability date, I sent David an email to inquire if he knew about the delay.

Here's his response: "Yes. My publisher went out of business. I'm looking for a new publisher to take over and print these books."

David writes how-to books on many camera models, so if you are thinking about ordering one, or other photo books published by Cengage, be advised of the issue.

I'm going to get a refund from Amazon.

I don't think Cengage which is multi billion dollar corporation went out of business. They may have put his books out of print and returned the copyright because of low sales.

Well, a search of the internet didn't turn up anything definitive, but:

- Cengage did file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection back in '13:

- Author David Busch said his publisher "went out of business."

Maybe they're just thinning the herd of product offerings. But, Busch is an author who has published dozens of books, and he's shopping for a publisher. Make of it what you will.
