Why the Right Can Afford to Be Charitable

Charity can be a very deceptive thing. The Walmart in which I no longer shop is adorned with quote from Helen Walton, "It's not what you gather, it's what you scatter." When one nasty family gathers trillions through theft of labor and other unethical and illegal tricks, it is easy to look good by scattering about a few million in philanthropic donations. These do not put an appreciable dent in the problems they have caused; they are only cheap pr sleights of hand.

The charity strategy of the right is an integral part of their fundamental deception crafted by the robber barons of the Gilded Age. First, through their consummately greedy and rapacious policies, they destroy the lives of a third to half the people in the country. Then, after they had secured their third vacation home, replaced last year's yacht with a new one, and accumulated enough money to bailout a bankrupt country, they ostentatiously donate to charitable causes, thus rescuing perhaps one hundredth the number of people they have harmed. They still rape the environment and their fellow humans, but do so while taking public acclaim for how charitable they are, and salving what little conscience they have.

While I agree with you in principle, I really don't think this belongs in the main photo forum. I would think the chit chat forum a better place to post this or on dedicated political discussion boards.

Charity can be a very deceptive thing. The Walmart... (show quote)

And, of course, those donations are tax-deductible.

Funny, most actors & actresses are Democrats & they seldom give to "charities"... Maybe they attend charitable functions, but actually giving their own money ?

I agree in part with your statement. But what about some of the liberal left such as George Soros, Bill Gates, and Ted Turner and several other so call liberal left who are still accumulating more wealth but giving away millions or billions such as Bill Gates. They all drink from the same cup of greed and arrogance and conceit, and yes probably narcissism also.

Nasty family? Tell us how you really feel. And in the future rants such as this belong in the attic but you knew that already didn't you... ;)

There are far more charitable donations made by the middle class, the lower middle class and conservatives because they are grateful for the abundance they have and a desire to help others.
The left which consists of most the Hollywood croud, And Kerry, Kennedys, Sorros, Jacksons, Sharpton and other l*****ts give nothing but work hard to take money from those who work forcibly to give to lazy worthless slugs. You fall into the class warfare fools who want others who work hard to give you something for nothing.
Lesson: no corporation has ever paid a dime in taxes. The wonderful government you so love taxes the corporation which then passes that tax on as a cost of doing business to you the stupid consumer. You are happy the government is screwing the corporation while you are the one being robbed by your beloved government using the corporations to collect the money from you. Try running a business some time. Conservatives as a whole are far less wealthy than the l*****ts who do everything in their power to dodge taxes (Al Sharpton and a majority of federal workers as a report this morning in the news announced) and not pay them. This is so stupid of a statement to make and shows you are one of those who h**e free enterprise, freedom to make money, personal responsibility and hatred for America as a whole and what it stands fo a bastion of individual liberty and the freedom to succeed and the freedom to fail.

Those on the left denigrate anyone on the right when it comes to money & greed, but conveniently ignore people on the left who are the same.... It's called double standards & they'll do it every time...

Wow, this ugly rant is almost enough to make me leave this PHOTOGRAPHY forum for good. Why don't we take on r****m, a******n, ISIS? I get enough of this left/right crap everyday. Just take beautiful pictures and leave the politics at home.

This kind of thinking is why this country is going in the toilet, but really has no place in this forum.

This seems to relate to this discussion:

I agree. We should substitute "suckers" for "taxpayers" at ever opportunity.
