Anyone using Polarr? I just became exposed to it today. Did and name search and nothing came up.

It is a Free browser based photo editor as compared to lightroom. Works with Jpeg and Raw.

Never heard of it but I would be extremely wary of downloading any free software no matter how tempting it might be.

I don't think you down load it. You log into it with your facebook acct or other. Like pintrest if you have ever heard of that.

I actually found it using Reviewed.com. (The most comprehensive source for unbiased, trustworthy, and lab tested reviews. Reviewed.com is a division of USA TODAY.)

Here is the link: http://cameras.reviewed.com/features/pro-photo-processing-in-a-browser-is-here-with-polarr

This was just published March 15th.

I just tried it out, it works very well, but it is a on-line editor, you can't download it.

Not even the ever popular Picasa? Or open source software like Gimp? You must have been terribly traumatized by a computer virus sometime in your past!

Of course I've heard of those; just not Polarr.

I just tried it out and I found it to be more of a stylized version of Picasa which I was never impressed with. I will stick with Lightroom.

From the article . . . . "Granted, this service is only as good as your internet connection, and it's useless for organizing your photo library. Nevertheless, it's a great way to edit a few photos on the fly without making too many sacrifices."

Organizing photos is the purpose of Lightroom, and the reason I purchased it.

You can't buy Lightroom, you have to rent the junker

Technically, you're right, of course, as it is with any software. But, with all the money invested in my photography equipment, the price is small to get the best.
