I'm not familiar with it, but a free trial sounds good. Just be sure you don't have to give a CC number to get the free trial. Being advertised here is no guarantee of quality.

I use it occasionally. It works OK but you need to use it sparingly to get good results.
Agree, the program tends to overdue the "corrections"!

It works ok for proof quality results. IMHO it removes too much texture when aggressively applied to skin smoothing - better to learn how to do non-destructive dodge and burn and frequency separation - the two principal tools of professional retouchers.

I have Portrait Pro Studio 9. I like it, it is easy to use and effective. I don't use it often, only because I rarely do portraits or people pictures any more.
I would say, if you have a use for, go ahead and give it a try. Like any PP program, don't over do it.
Kelbyone.com has a great course on processing portraits in Lightroom.

I love portrait professional 12 Studio version works as stand alone and lr and ps plug ins.
I use it sparingly. It tends to be a little aggressive on texture smoothing.
Everything is adjustable though.

Yes, result is too perfect, too plastic, but like seasoning in food good, easy, effective if used as a dash rather than a main course. Have 10, but have not used many times. Like many adjustments in all programs, run the slider till it looks good then back off a bit.

I tested it and it made everyone better looking with perfect complexions. Everyone looked like Barbie or Ken dolls. They no longer looked like the people I know. No, I don't use it.
As a former portrait photographer, I felt it was up to my clients to decide if and or how much to alter their appearance in the finished product. I counselled each as to what was available and the additional costs involved. Jointly, we arrived at which methods would be used to meet their expectations. I personally have never used the product asked about here as it wasn't available. But, if it were I would definitely have gave it a try...it may have helped me to save a lot of time, which would translate to lower costs to my client and greater value...

When used properly, it gives exceptionally great results.. It is a software program that is a must if you do portraits and it is very easy to use. Because of this, it saves time when you are processing a customer's portrait photos. I highly recommend the software, I use it, and like others have already said, use it sparingly..

Earlier I replied that I have version nine of PortraitPro. I see a lot of discussion as to how it creates an un-natural image. I thought perhaps a better reply would be a pair of images, one in which PortraitPro was used and the same image before.
Background: the couple in the picture have been extremely close family friends for more than 50 years. The wife now is afflicted with dementia. When I took this picture, the husband started to cry. I wanted to send them a print of the photo, but I wanted it not to show so much emotion. This was not a photo shoot, just a gathering of old friends.
How good a job I did changing his expression I'll leave up to you to judge. Just look at the photo to judge the software's ability. Do you think the people look un-natural?
