As I was walking in the woods behind my home a few weeks ago, I saw this unusual tree. I had walked by it numerous times over the years but just didn't see it.
From the two uprights on the left, a third tree (root?) grows from the base of the "double" tree along the ground, turns up and forks. The branch (root?) that grows along the ground also grows another upright a few feet from the base of the main trees.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what could have caused this deformity?

Now that is just down right one heck of a perverted tree.
Ohhhhh I have a dirty mind me thinks.

and I thought the intersections of the trees I shot were curious.......mother nature!
I wish i could tell you what causes this odd growth. Mother Nature is amazing. My Daddy cut a Pine tree down and the fallen tree continued to grow. Explain that!!!
