Can't wait to see the iPhone on the sidelines at the supper bowl.

I could take a picture of my cat's supper bowl with an iPhone.

Sorry I asked. I was hoping for some intelligent conversation.

It's a good question. Just some interesting responses. I've often contemplated the same thought. I came to the realization that if you're happy with the image, it really doesn't matter how it was shot. Personally I like my iPhone for quick shots. I love my dslr because I have more control over my shot to get the results I'm trying to achieve. I'm also a gadget freak, so more knobs to turn interests me.

My 2 cents.....

If you can get Kodachrome in it, your good.

I do miss Kodachrome (and Agfachrome). I still feel Ektachrome sucks. I was never really happy with color photography before going digital. And I really miss Plus-X. Ilford FP4-Plus is similar.

You'll learn to just skip over replies from certain individuals. They just use this forum to stroke their egos, never giving any assistance or valuable advice - just trying to make people feel like idiots so they feel better about themselves. This is a forum to ask questions and hopefully get some good advice. There are plenty of helpful people on here, just cull out the A-holes and see them for what they are! Believe it or not, this forum has gotten much better in the last couple of years. Don't get discouraged. Just keep on learning, asking and practicing. That's how you get better!

I agree but some people are a pain in the ass. They don't stop to think that the person might be a little new to this site and that's what this site is for. TO HELP....Rich

Thanks big wolf, you are right.

In my career I have used Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Mamiya, Yashica, Fuji, Hasselblad, Bronica, Kowa, Kodak, Agfa, Burke and James, 70 mm long roll cameras, my iPad and 4x5 cameras. They all got the job done. Every camera has a set of features and capabilities. It is up to the user to choose the one that best fits their needs and budget. I currently use both Canon and Nikon DSLR systems and both do what I need them to.

Yes, I saw them and they're very nice. I am much better with my "real" camera than with my iPhone but I am intrigued with what some people can do with those things. I was a fan of Dewitt Jones when he was a National Geographic photographer. Now he shoots a lot with an iPhone and has published books about it and written about iphoneography in his column in Outdoor Photo magazine. If you want to see his work, he posts new images every day on his public Facebook page, usually iPhone images.

A gifted photographer can probably make a great image with just about anything. We lesser mortals sometimes need more help.

My daughter posts some great photos of my grandkids taken on her cellphone that are less than 1k x 1k. I'd love to blow some of them up to 5x7, but I have to wonder if they'd make it. Wonderful photos as thumbnails or on fb, though, aren't they?

Does not matter what real camera you use but I've found that any Cell / Smart Phone is going to be a mediocre "camera". The lenses just don't have the quality of a Camera Lens or the cost. Who is going to buy a $2,500 iPhone or Galaxy S5. Actually a $ cheap Point-n-shoot is almost as bad. When viewed at much more than 4x6" they fall apart with noise and poor pixel processing. Meaning in part, that I've seen really nice though not huge older digital images taken with a professional 5MP camera.

No, I have not seen that particular site. I might check it out later though.

Yes they are, have some 5x7's printed and see. What have you got to lose? That's the good part about digital. Have a good day.😜😜

Apple.com iphone gallery..... They of course show the best of the best, meaning out of someone's 2000 shots, one was somewhat comparable to professional results (unless you zoom in on it ;) ).

I like a better keeper rate. Try shooting sports, nature or performances with an iphone.
