Go f___yourself in the ass!

B***hing? I'm certainly not b***hing. I love my job and wouldn't change a thing. I haven't had a raise in seven years, and for three of those years I took a paycut to preserve the jobs of teachers, nurses and counselors for the kids. And you didn't read a single complaint about that in my post.

B***hing? I hardly think so. But I get really angry with ignorant assholes like you who think we are living high on the hog because we don't happen to work the same schedule as you.

Why are you berating govt employees?
Some are hard working and do provide legitimate services.
Some people chose the stability of govt work over private industry.

Let me tell you something you ignorant f___! I have seen people in my industry lose everything they worked for including their businesses, retirement and their homes! I personally know of two suicides. I have suffered huge personal economic loss and at 67 am still working and see no chance of quitting. The participation in the work force is in the mid 60 percentile and incomes are barely keeping up with inflation. All due to your precious butt buddy Obama! In the mean time you assholes have the audacity to keep coming back to the tax payers asking for more money. May your retirement be as pleasant as mine! Now go f___ yourself!

It could be that running a company isn't what you were best at. That isn't the fault of teachers and it isn't Obama's fault. You chose your career path they didn't.

Collectively speaking the teaching profession is more dedicated to NEA than a once admirable cause. Nothin but thieves.

Since you are like a baby bird, waking up in a new world every day and don't have a clue what living in the real world is all about, I am refraining from anymore correspondence with you. As far as I am concerned you no longer exist on this list.

Bingo! But he had to because he couldn't get along with an employer so he decided to be his own. Poor choice too because fly-by-night companies and pyramid schemes don't pay. Yes, he will have to work for the rest of his life because he lies and h**es others, he resents people for their success. I can tell by his behavior here that because he has no filter on his mouth that he'll always be unsuccessful at anything he puts his hand to, he has no respect for others. He has to have his wife tell him what to do, when to do it, otherwise he acts like he does here. A disaster waiting to happen if anything happens to that wife.

Let's be real. According to payscale.com, the average middle school teacher in this country makes $42,800. Not poverty level, but "living well off the public tit?" I hardly think so. Teachers are actually the best bargain you can get for your buck. Let's look at it together, shall we?

I have 4 years of college and a fifth year of post grad work for my credential. So here's what I propose. Pay me just $3 an hour to teach your kid. For 6 hours a day, that's $18. For the 38 days I have your child, that's $118,000 a year. And that's less than we pay babysitters these days. Keep in mind this doesn't count the hours a day I work for free at home grading papers, making parent phone calls and planning lessons.

Change the $3 an hour to the federal minimum wage of $7.25, and my salary jumps to $297,6540. Now try to find another profession that pays people with 5 years of college the minimum wage.

And instead you're paying me an average salary of $42,800. And from that deduct the hundreds or thousands of dollars I spend on supplies for my classroom.

I h**e to be rude, but why don't you and everyone else who bashes teachers just step inside a classroom for a week. You'll go screaming from the room before it's over. You asshats have no idea what we deal with, but are very quick to condemn us. I know you never will, so please go f*&k yourself.
You are certainly a bitter, angry man who knows no... (show quote)

Maybe I'm missing something in your math, but how does $3/hr times 6 times 38 get to $118K?

Good catch. I should have written it as $3 per hour times 6 hours times 38 kids times 180 days in a school year. And even then my arithmetic stinks, because that comes out to $123,000. My whole argument kinda goes kablooey when I screw it up like that. I'm disappointed you didn't catch the screwup in the other number I posted. Go check it out. I have no idea what I was thinking when I did those original calculations.
