All of the T.V. providers are a bunch of blood suckers. The worst no one even mentioned. The most Reviled one, in a national survey is Dish. I was with them for years and then they really got greedy, so I axed them.

We have been a custermer of Diect tv for ten years. Our bill kept creeping up over the years, we payed no attention and had the bill paid through our bank account. When we finally caught it we called Direct Tv and got the run around. We dropped them and went to cable. Direct tv called and apologized for our bad experience and offered us some deals. I told them we would come back but my I wanted the cost and monthly cost up front. They told me for these prices I would be under a one year contract. I said ok that will work. The installer just left my house with their equipment. They decided that I needed to pay them $199.00 for a receiver. I told them that was not the deal. They told me that I was under contract and would be charged a cancellation fee. My response was when hell freezes over. Now I have to figure out how to keep them out of my checking account. Any advice here will help. What a piece of crap,of a,company. (Sorry for the missed spellings but I am,pissed, off, and don't care)

After fulfilling my 1 year contract, I totalled up the hours I watched the TV. It amounted to around 50. I cancelled my contract at the end of the 1 year, as it wasn't worth it. I haven't had a TV since 2002. I don't miss it, either.

Just talk to a friend he told me that he hasn't used cable or dish tv in over a year. He uses internet to watch tv, he tells me that he can watch local news as well as programs. Plus movies. I am going to check it out this week. Has anyone else heard of this.

Yep! Get your HDMI cable and connect your late model laptop to your late model TV. Use your TV remote to select the PC as your source. Go on the internet with your laptop and grab TV, Movies, Videos and play on your laptop and watch on your big screen TV. Sound and all. You can even do your email on the big screen. Works great. And, now they are beginning to sell smart TVs with internet. All you need is an internet connection. Bundle cable internet and phone line for about $30 a month.

As I said early on, I no longer have any of the dish/cable providers... Did have Dish and found that when they hike the price,,, call and cancel the service... IT is amazing what GREAT Deals they will give you to KEEP you.... or Cancel and wait a week or two and start getting the Deals in the Mail.....

But.. I just decided that no matter what I was paying, it was way way to much for the 6 programs I watched... 4 of which were on the same channel..... So, now all my tv is over the internet...
