I asked this same question back in August. I must say I have been very pleased with the Canon items I purchased. The price was right and it came with a warranty. I guess I am saying "go for it." :-D

Wow. after reading what some of the others are saying perhaps I should keep my mouth shut. I shouldn't tell anyone how much money I saved on my canon 100mm 2.8L macro lens. I guess some guys like paying more. I am completely satisfied with the transaction.

Not to worry foathog. There are always a couple of nay sayers. In this case one of them finds a need to be crude which is becoming a common occurrence. If there had been complaints from others prior I could understand the sentiment.

I have indeed seen some of their ad's and have taken a wait and see what the feedback would eventually say here on the forum, and from what I have read I will give them a try.

I believe you will receive the merchandise ordered.

I do not believe their advertised savings.

Best deal I was offered was 7%, after questioning the percent advertised, they raised the offer to 10%.

Not enough for me to add a 3rd party to the transaction.

I have purchased a couple of items and saved 25-30% over the cheapest price found anywhere else. Very impressed.

It all depends how you look at it. The way it works is that you submit your proposed price for an item. There is a gauge that gives you some idea of a likelihood that your price may be accepted. Then Greentoe submits your proposed site to their providers. They can accept or submit a counter bid. In several instances that I've dealt with Greentoe, my savings over B&H, Adorama and Amazon was slightly under or over 10%. If I spend $ 1000 which is not unusual in today's camera and lens market, it's a savings of around $ 100. In my view, that's a reason to consider Greentoe.

My husband tried buying a Sony Camera bag from them after I pointed Greentoe out but no one accept his offer so he bought it from a reputable dealer for very close to the same price and no waiting......just our experience.

It's amazing how people can beat something to death without trying it. I have purchased a 6D, Sigma 105 Macro, Sigma 50 1.4 A and saved enough money to purchase a tripod from them as well. I find them to be a great company and will purchase my Sigma 150-600 C when it becomes available. Get over yourselves and change, this is a good thing.

Why would somebody want to add yet another middleman into a purchase?
No Thank You. :hunf:

Hello all,

I just wanted to let you know that Greentoe was created to put purchasing power back in the hands of the consumers by allowing retailers compete for your business. We only partner with Manufacturer Authorized Retailers to sell you new products only. Our retailers are very reputable and most have been in business for more than 20 years. All products are covered by a USA warranty from the manufacturer. We NEVER sell grey market merchandise, and accept returns. We usually beat Amazon and other retailersÂ’ prices by 15%-20%.

Your credit card will never be charged until a retailer accepts your offer and you will know the name of the retailer once your offer is accepted.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions.

Thanks!

It has been my experience that retailers that sell Sony stuff get what they usually ask for. I've received very few bids when I tried to offer a lower than retail price on Sony stuff.

Old school mentality... If you don't understand something, fight it or go against it.
I tried them and I'm totally happy with my purchase. I think people shouldn't have an opinion about something that they never tried or don't understand.

there is a LOT less margin in camera bags than cameras and lenses. therefore Greentoe cannot compete well on lower priced items.
