With all their faults (noisy, bullish, gluttons), I just can't resist these birds! Their coloration is highly conducive to auto-focusing and they are large enough to allow the camera to do it's job. These are all shot through the glass window of my kitchen and with various equipment. All are shot using Canon 400mm f/5.6L lens.

i think blue jays are one of the most beautiful birds around.
you did an excellent job on these portraits bob. they are so sharp to have been shot through your window! :-D
Bluejays are fast becoming some of my favorite feeder birds, faults and all. These are just beautiful, Bob. The color and feather detail are excellent as always.
