have them sent you a postal money order & have them register

I wouldn't do that...even postal money orders can be faked and you get stuck....

cash only.

Period.

Okay send the cash and I'll send the camera. Camera is probably better than new being it was checked out with 988 pictures. That was mostly in the burst mode of the grand-kids.

It is very simple if you use eBay. Simply follow this guideline.

Be completely accurate about the condition of the camera.
Include photos in the listing that show the serial number and any cosmetic issues
Restrict sales to US buyers only.
Offer a return policy.
Set a fair price using fixed price listing.
Ship the item with insurance and signature confirmation.
Don't withdraw the money from PayPal until you know the customer is satisfied.
I have been selling on eBay since 2003. I have over 3,000 transactions. I have sold items for individual items for thousands. You should have no problems.

Thanks for trying to help but that sounds like a lot of work and I don't like pay pal. I'd keep it before I went through all that work. My time is worth something to.

Geez, I bought a Pentax *IST DL factory refurnb, killer camera for entry level box, ebay, great deal fast shipping.
Bought a Canon 40D on ebay, killer deal, fast shipping, bought a Canon 1D mark 2 on ebay, never a glitch. I always read the entire auction before I bid and check feedback closely.

I would try Craigs list. I had four lens I wanted to sell at very good prices. I listed them on another forum. Did not receive one inquiry for two days. That evening I listed on Craigs list and sold all four the next day. No one asked if they could trust me and all brought cash.

I sold a D7000 on e-bay. Shipped it USPS with a confirmation number. I paid e-bay for the shipping label and confirmation number. The USPS screwed up the number and PayPal wouldn't pay for seven days .... even after the buyer gave very positive feedback. I was not a happy camper.

I also buy on e-bay and when a seller says "I have to prove my identity before I can cash your M.O." That's good for the seller. Does nothing for the buyer. Like you I am honest so I have 100% positive feedback. If you choose e-Bay, make sure the buyer also has a big number of positive feedbacks.

Be sure to actually check the feedbacks and not just the percentage. My son got burned by a guy had a great feedback percentage. The only problem was it was based on his purchases, not his sales. He paid when he bought but wasn't so honest when it came to selling.

I've had dozens of sucessful Paypal transactions with no problem.........if you can't find a local buyer, you will have to trust some company and I would pick Paypal over all the rest....

I'm trying to figure out Craigs list and list it locally. I need to find someone that would help me with that. My memory is not very good anymore.

Thanks everyone for all the tips on selling cameras etc. I now use the local Craigs list. The buyer can see the product and I get my money.
