It's a Nikon D5100 and I know how to list it here. I know about how they should contact me with a PM. I've been honest all my life but how does the buyer know that? I've been stuck with dishonest people before so I won't send it until I get paid. I don't know how to sell on ebay and I don't trust pay pal, they still owe me money. It would be nice to find someone that lives close to me so I could show it to them.
Thank you

Have you tried craigslist.com ??? I have bought/sold there before... cash only by the way! I ALWAYS take a friend & meet buyer/seller in a mall/shopping center parking lot for safety & security.

Ebay is not that hard but you are still probably stuck with paypal unless your going to take a personal check.

You can check out escrow.com but they are a little pricey.

I know I can get a cashier's check but what can I do to let the buyer know that I am honest?

I sold a D7000 on e-bay. Shipped it USPS with a confirmation number. I paid e-bay for the shipping label and confirmation number. The USPS screwed up the number and PayPal wouldn't pay for seven days .... even after the buyer gave very positive feedback. I was not a happy camper.

I also buy on e-bay and when a seller says "I have to prove my identity before I can cash your M.O." That's good for the seller. Does nothing for the buyer. Like you I am honest so I have 100% positive feedback. If you choose e-Bay, make sure the buyer also has a big number of positive feedbacks.

That's no assurance for Katey. He gets the money but she doesn't know that he will then ship a good Nikon. We once had the seller ship to a dealer in town. He checked out the camera, said it was good, took our money, gave us the camera and shipped the money to the seller.

That would be a good arrangement for Bill, assuring him the check (M.O.) was good.

I would double check on the cashiers check with your bank - I was told that they can be fraudulent and made up very easily.

Thats good advice about the fraudulent cashiers check. I see your from WI. My grandparents came from Dodge Co. WI. I have relatives around Tomah.

Thank you all for the advice. I'll be listing the camera, lens and what comes with it.
A few years back I done a job for a judge, he paid me in advance. Just as a joke I said how do you know I'll do the work. He said "because I know where you live" good answer.

What I don't understand is, if you have a camera for sale and you are familiar with UHH why didn't you list the item here? I have been using Paypal for years and have had excellent service. I also had an account where I had not checked on a payment and they contacted me immediately as what to do with my balance. I solved that little problem by purchasing a new lens.

I wouldn't do that...even postal money orders can be faked and you get stuck....

cash only.

Period.
