Okay, I'm jumping in on the second page of this thread...my vote is a Sharp-shinned hawk. Doesn't look like a red-tailed one to me. We'll see what everyone thinks...Hey Mt Shooter...What ya think??
Definitely a red-shouldered hawk.
Sharp shinned hawks are smaller than the hawk in the original posting and sharp shinned hawks look very much like a Coopers hawk, in fact I do believe they are in the same family just smaller.
Red shouldered hawk looks good to me.

That hawk is a typical Red-shouldered Hawk. The orange bars seen on the chest of the bird in flight is typical red-shouldered, the reddish wing linings with light and dark barring on the primaries and secondaries is typical. The black and white bars on the tail with the black bars being larger is Red-shouldered. The rusty colored patches going down the outside of the folded wing is typical red-shouldered hawk. When you add it all up, there is no other hawk that fits that description.
