Cholly -- your points are well taken. It is a dilemma. I have not bought the a6000 yet. It looks like a great choice in a body. However I am not thrilled in the choice of lenses for this body (particularly the kit lens of which I've read some criticism). I am also considering Olympus OM ED-10 (great lens choices between Olympus and Panasonic) and Sony RX100 111 which of course is a fixed lens. My choice will be the a6000 if I can zero in on lenses. Thanks for your input.

Morry, the A6000 has the same sensor and processor as the Sony A77mkII, which is a MONSTER of a camera.

The Oly OM-D E-M10 is a good camera; Micro 4/3rds with good reviews. But the A6000 really does out-perform it in every meaningful way:

Plus, it's over $100 cheaper!

Cholly, I have read the interesting comparison you suggested and agree with everything you say. Those are the very reasons that I favor the a6000. I also think that the Zeiss lens I originally inquired about is very fine lens at a very fine price as one would expect. But a couple of responders indicated that they think it is too big and heavy for the a6000. I realize that around $200. usually gets one a poor quality lens -- but many opinions of this (Sigma 19mm) lens owners in Amazon.com comments say that it is a very good lens and they think it out performs many much more expensive lenses. Anyway I think $200. isn't too much to spend for a temporary lens. I'm still pondering and thinking and not in a rush to buy. Again -- thanks for your input.

Jay at SonyAlpha labs says the Sony Vario Tessar T E 16-70mm zoom is a better lens than the full frame 24-70 so unless it is your intention to upgrade to full frame in the future I suggest you get the 16-70mm zoom here is a link to his review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5m4s2ziCeX8
It is one of the lenses I want along with FE 70-200G and the Zeis Touit 50mm macro

The A mount Sony Zeiss 24-70mm is WAAAAAY to big and heavy for the A6000; that's true. But the FE mount Zeiss 24-70mm is just right and a perfect match for the A6000, even though it was made for the A7 family.

Yes but the 16-70 is apparently a better lens
