I like this photograph although I would have done my visual design differently to yours.
Those logs in the foreground could be of interest to others since we are all different but I would have eliminated them from my composition.
The picture lacks contrast, at least for my taste and it needs color correction since it appears greenish to me in my calibrated monitor.
This has to be a beautiful shot to convert to b&w and when I do so I like to add warmth to the file. I used Agfa fiber base paper for many years and got used to images with some warmth in it.
Although the rules suggest to offer information on exposure, camera and lens used this seems to be missing in the majority of the posts. Many times knowing that information makes for a more detailed critique.

I think it could be improved a bit with some careful targeted adjustments, but that is not criticism. I am envious at what you got to experience... the sound must have been booming!
Will the storms help the drought farther south or cause more problems then it is worth? I know they are desperate for it in the mountains.

beauty capture bud..love it.!!! nice work.!! maybe abit of tonal contrast to pop the wave and the color abit..still a great catch..imo..

IMHO this is an excellent capture. My take on the logs- they form a frame for the bottom of the image and tend to emphasize the height and roar of the wave. I don't see a greenish cast; the green impression seems to come from the (as I remember) color of the ocean. The logs don't appear to have a greenish cast to my old eyes, but then...
Also, while a B&W may also portray this scene/moment beautifully, I also enjoy the relatively soft, muted realistic colors.
All in all, a real beauty of an image.
My $.02. Everyone's taste is unique and special to each.
Keep on shooting, bud! Let's see more drama.

Bud, you have a fine lighthouse photo with plenty of action from the ocean. I took the liberty of fixing it towards my view. I thought the tree logs in the foreground was a distraction. By cropping them out, your eye is kept on your fine ocean capture.
