I actually get a great deal of fun out of the stupid debate and the boring farts who join in. I sit with a cup of coffee and let my imagination run wild about what they look like and how friggin awful life would become if you had to share a work station or similar with them. To their wives I extend my deepest and sincere sympathy.
Secondly I look in their porfolio here and lo and behold many of the loudest talkers do not seem to take photos at all. Just read and digest reviews and polish their lens collection. All bought because of hot reviews about zero pin cushion and other such tasty and desirable attributes.
The first caller was right Nikon and Canon both make good kit. So stop talking and boring others and get off ya butt and use what you have to take some photos.
Me? I use an old Pentax thats been dropped 3 times onto concrete floors and totally immersed in the sea. Still going strong and in use at least 4 days a week with 100 plus shots taken on each of those days. I also post photographs regularly here. So to me Pentax is OK as well and Im sure Sony and Olympus are fine bits of kit as well.

Yes they are. I have both Sony and Olympus.

My favorite, or maybe least favorite, bore-fest was the recent one that went on for at least 7 pages before I "unwatched" it concerning whether you should format your SD card or delete files from it. Why is that worth a heated debate from people who are adamant about, and fiercely protective of, their chosen method being the only way that's right? Sick...

Is that also known as a finger fart instead of a brain fart?

When I get overly it requires more than one finger...

Well, I've never been one to pick a brand of anything over another based on popularity. I tend to pick whatever works best for my purposes without regard to brand, but I'm wooed by build quality & feel and so baesd on that I chose Nikon DSLRs because the ones which I have (D200 & D300s) are - to me - much heavier and more solidly built then ther Canon counterparts. So there!! :)

dbh, these are cameras, not WOMEN, something few photographers know much about!! Who cares what a camera feels like.
You want weight, just attach a hunk of lead to your camera. That will add what's so important to you.
dbh, take the new Canon 7dmkll and either of your cameras(preferably both) and drop them into a bucket of water, remove and shoot.
Your HEAVY Nikon will definately make a better DOORSTOP!
