The fight on UHH over Canon and Nikon has been going on as long as I can remember. Frankly, they're both outstanding camera systems, so, why does it really matter? Take either one it becomes the photographer than is the difference.

I believe the gentleman is summarizing the arguments of "my camera is better than your camera". No harm, no foul. I liked it.

Oh, come on, Steve! It's always been a lively topic of conversation, and, unlike nuclear fission, most people are familiar enough to join in the discussion. It not much different than the Ford/Chevy or Remington/Winchester debates. Just too much fun to give it up!

I actually get a great deal of fun out of the stupid debate and the boring farts who join in. I sit with a cup of coffee and let my imagination run wild about what they look like and how friggin awful life would become if you had to share a work station or similar with them. To their wives I extend my deepest and sincere sympathy.
Secondly I look in their porfolio here and lo and behold many of the loudest talkers do not seem to take photos at all. Just read and digest reviews and polish their lens collection. All bought because of hot reviews about zero pin cushion and other such tasty and desirable attributes.
The first caller was right Nikon and Canon both make good kit. So stop talking and boring others and get off ya butt and use what you have to take some photos.
Me? I use an old Pentax thats been dropped 3 times onto concrete floors and totally immersed in the sea. Still going strong and in use at least 4 days a week with 100 plus shots taken on each of those days. I also post photographs regularly here. So to me Pentax is OK as well and Im sure Sony and Olympus are fine bits of kit as well.

That I will forgive if you are not a fully paid up member of the boring farts club lol
I do not post ever in the photo gallery. There is no sensible critique there. An out of focus badly composed picture taken from a distance of 4 klms of a lesser spotted pointed beak white toed hedge hopper will get comment like Great shot, Very Nice and Well taken etc. No one tells the truth it seems. Obviously there are some damn good pictures displayed as well.
I post in the Critique forum where critique can be brutal at times but its honest and Im a regular in the HDR section cos thats what I do most of.

Nice to make your acquaintance my man. Perhaps we should join forces in the next Nikon vs Canon debate and take the pee out of them showing absolutely no mercy lol

I don't know if I'm up to the standards of the artsy fartsy crowd in the critique section. I also wonder sometimes where those critiques come from.

Dip your toes in the water You may find the natives are friendlier than you think. Some are artsy fartsy but most have their feet on the ground I have found up to now. And my standard of work has improved I feel because of input from people there

Com'on Steve, what are you gonna talk about? Make up your mind. Is it gonna be about how bad your pictures are or how bad your camera is?
We could critique both. Just tell us what you shoot with and post a pic taken with it. I promise to be honest, unbiased and not just say "nice shot/nice camera", cause I'm sure I'd be lying about both!!

Now that would make this thread interesting. So lets all post a picture cos thats what photography is about. SS you post loads of messages as in over hundreds and hundreds but very few pictures. I could not give a toss about your latest Canon whatever and its superior frame rate etc. I would learn zilch from that but from your photographic work I may pick up a tip.
So hows about we all post a pic here?

Who cares where they end up and how quickly?
For those who know and care about the forum, they search much more than just the first page, and some search by user!!
Personally I search for newest topics and go back quite a ways to see which ones I want to look at based on either user name or topic title.
