But, but, how do I get permission to paint the cars? :) :)

I do think I will learn to use HDR, just maybe not as forcefully as you. There can only be one master.
So you think photomatrix is the one to use? Does it have a subtle button, or is your way the only way.
And I hope you don't mind if I painted your truck. It was looking rusty.

Photomatix is the best quite simply and I have tried them all I think. For subtle you can fuse your images rather than tone map them. If you go down the tone map route the strength of the effect can be altered with a slider. Other way is to tone map your image and blend it with the normal exposure original using layers in Photoshop. Using this method you can of course selectively blend. ie Have an HDR truck but keep the background normal. Endless possibilities my man and a whole bundle of fun. Give you freedom to create exactly what you like and want

That's it then. PhotoMatrix. I will figure out the rest of it.
If it's got sliders, I will just keep them on the left end of the stick.

greymule my friend do not worry the pot is always on the fire. Just keep adding a few ingredients to tempt the taste buds.

Bily is absolutely correct. I use Photomatix also. There are 2 versions, I use the pro version and there are a bunch of presets you can use. You have a choice between photographic, artistic and monochrome. The photographic gives you a more realistic look, but I'll warn you, it can be addictive to play around with the presets and sliders to see what you can do. If you're unsure about getting Photomatix you can download a free trial which is unlimited in time but it puts a large Photomatix watermark on the final image. I tried out both versions before purchasing.

Thanks Walt,
Don't really use presets much, but the sliders DO let me keep it subtle. Appreciate your advice, I will avoid addiction.

Billy, I've been looking at several of your post. Like your sense of humor. I think this is the best HDR of your's I've seen. Outstanding job.

Some folks around here accuse ol' Billy of overcooking images. Well the new term is "lightly saute'd" OK.
If you want natural do not bother with HDR software. You can achieve that look with Camera Raw and filters and no hassle with introduced noise and halos etc. Easy peazy.
My HDR shows, its meant to show, that's what I do. If ya like it fine if ya don't I can live with that.
HDR rocks and this is how I do it!!!!!!!!!
