Don, I have a 600 and the shutter has been replaced. But I'm still getting spots and sent it in for a second cleaning. Now I have more. I actually had none until about 5,000 clicks. What did you say to them to get the 610? I'd like to have it if for no other reason than value. The D600 is a tough sell, even for cheap.

NoSocks: I called them, told them about the spots, they sent me a link to upload a photo. 2 hours later, they sent me an email with a return label and form to send mine back and told me they would replace it with a 610. A week later I had a 610 at my door. They had first fixed my 600 in April.

So give them a call, by Turkey Day, you could have a new camera!

Fewer and fewer, but there are still some that still place the customer as #1.

Does anyone know if Nikon (UK) have also done this replacement as well as Nikon (US)? My D600 has now been back twice for oil spot sensor cleaning under warranty.

Here in the US they will replace the camera after the 3rd instance. So if it happens again, call and kindly but firmly ask for a replacement. I think they may accommodate you.

Perhaps because he still has the accessories from the D600 which are duplicated by the new accessories?

Why would Nikon NOT send all the accessories with a NEW camera?

I keep a spread sheet of my settings. Like google "D600 sports Settings" get a set of suggestions and make your own spread sheet. I have a couple one for sports and one for other stuff, and one for back button.

Good idea. More to do......

It took a while. It's been an uphill battle for me over the last 26 months. I bought the D600 in September of 2012.

The camera still only had about 6,000 clicks on it. I don't take a multitude of shots, like a machine gun spraying all over the place. I "try" to keep it to a few good ones....Old habits die hard! Must be left over wisdom from the "film" days when your mistakes cost as much as the "keepers.".

If you see oil spots, call Nikon and they will walk you through what you need to do next. After their review of your camera, they will either fix it or replace it. Depends on problem with the camera. To fix it, you may be without your camera for a few weeks, if they replace it, they send the new one out as soon as your is received into their system.

The previous 2 times they fixed mine it was a 10 day turnaround. Just like when they replaced it.

I wonder what they are doing with all those D600s. Probably putting 610 stickers on them and shipping them back out......LOL!

I'm going to introduce the new D610 to SigZilla. It's cold and crappy here, but what the heck...Gotta do something(nothing else left to complain about!)
