My replacement new D610 came today. Along with the camera body Nikon included all the accessories too. New battery, charger, covers and cables.
Way to go Nikon! Now this IS how to remedy a bad situation.
Now I have to remember what all my settings were. I forgot how many there are.
Congrats, Don. Glad you got a new 610 from Nikon to replace your 600. A happy ending that should not have taken so long but happy nonetheless. ;)
Nikon DonB - Always nice to hear when good things happen to good people.

Lately, I've heard a lot of stories about Nikon replacing defective cameras with no questions ask...good to hear.
Does anyone know if Nikon (UK) have also done this replacement as well as Nikon (US)? My D600 has now been back twice for oil spot sensor cleaning under warranty.

 They just replaced mine about a month ago. I thought I wrote down most of my settings prior to sending my 600 back. Nope! I forgot about all the little sub-menus. LOL I really like the 610.

Great news. I must have missed what happened to your D600. Was it the dreaded oil spots on the sensor problem? Enjoy the new D610.

Don, I have a 600 and the shutter has been replaced. But I'm still getting spots and sent it in for a second cleaning. Now I have more. I actually had none until about 5,000 clicks. What did you say to them to get the 610? I'd like to have it if for no other reason than value. The D600 is a tough sell, even for cheap.

Way to go, Don!! You'll love it!! And, yes, I had to go through that same configuration exercise. You're correct!! There are many settings we don't think about on a daily basis.

Why would Nikon NOT send all the accessories with a NEW camera?

It's been my personal experience that Nikon readily replaces any/all defective products as is justified.
I keep a spread sheet of my settings. Like google "D600 sports Settings" get a set of suggestions and make your own spread sheet. I have a couple one for sports and one for other stuff, and one for back button.
