Hi Everyone, I am looking for the best priced website provider. I have checked into a few and it's hard to know which is best. I had decided on GoDaddy.com but just clicking on the option (the premium package) and I found myself having additional chargers and I thought I was getting the one that offered everything for a certain price.
Does anyone use GoDaddy? I sure could use some help with this, any and all advise is welcomed!!!
Thanks, Susan

Susan, I have a website on Godaddy, but really don't use it to post my photographs. I use SmugMug.com to post all my images. It is very user friendly, it can be customized, and it always adding new features to its website. You can click on the below link to view my website. If you have any questions, let me know. Arnold

you will need to purchase a domain name and then you will have to pay for a hosting company. Go Daddy does both.

I purchased my domain name but I am finding out from the purchase of domain name and business cards that as you go through the ordering process, additional charges are added for this and that and price ends up being more than I expected.
While the price seems fair for different hosting companies, I was trying to decide which would be the best and had decided on GoDaddy.....only to find out that more additional charges were being applied when the package I had chosen showed those items to be included.
So I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a good website provider that doesn't have any surprises?

I went to your website and have to say....OMG the B&W of the bird with the reflection is so very beautiful!!
Is Smugmug reasonably priced? Why do you prefer it over GoDaddy? Can people purchase through Smugmug using Paypal?

For the best and most reasonable, copy and paste the URL in this photo. They have free domain names, so that is an even greater savings. Enjoy.

This is the one I use.

I was with Better Photo for years but left two months ago as they failed to stay competitive as far as what is offered and they do not show your pictures in full resolution. I have switched to Smug Mug and could not be happier. Zenpholio is also a very good provider.
You can't beat free hosting, like you can get with Weebly. I've used it for hosting several websites with no problems. You can include as many photos as you want, and even use e-commerce features to sell things.
http://www.weebly.com/Just buy your domain name wherever you want; I use 1and1.com or godaddy.com. After that just follow the directions to set up your site with Weebly.
Here's a sample of one of my sites. All it costs me is the annual domain registration of about $10.

Susan,
I use
www.hostmonster.com. If you own your domain name, the charge should only be about $5.95 a month for the first year. I use it for both a series of web pages created on iweb on my apple and a blog using WordPress.

I use GoDaddy strictly for the domain name and smugmug powers my website. I love smugmug. It was my first choice, so I do not have others to compare.

Take a real good look at SmugMug--- I moved there from Apple's discontinued iWeb which was hosted at GoDaddy--- so many options and very similar in price---depends upon what level you want to buy and yes, you can sell a number of different ways

I have only used one service for the past four years and very satisfied with service.
Before deciding, you may want to check out justhost.com.
Never been down sice I've had them, unlimited space, unlimited transfer (bandwidth),unlimited domain names. Free domain name for life, unlimited email addresses, unlimited databases, etc.
Money back quarantee.
I tried for one year at $6.95 and was so pleased I paid for a longer period of time (4yrs) and it cost $3.95 a month.
The best thing was that on three occassions I had to contact them for tecnical questions (via computer connection) for web sites I was publishing. On each occassion I received answers withing 17 minutes (I timed it).
A lot of extras offered for free....blogs, e-commerce, etc.
I have a number of web sites up mainly for family and friends.Never have to worry about space.
They are a newer company but tout to have the lastest equipment because of that.
I plan on renewing without a doubt.
Good luck
Jim
