You can buy an attachment for the iPad which allows you to load photos right from the SD card rather than use wi-fi. 8-)

There is a product soon to be available, maybe even now, called the iStick that allows transfer between Apple products everything else. Apple really screwed the pooch when they failed to put a usb port or ports on the iPads. The small company marketing the product is in the Frisco Bay area and is available in 8 thru 128GB. Google iStick and you can probably find it.

Hello everyone, this is my first time here, I have been enjoying all the pictures, comments, answers, etc. I have been learning as well.

Regarding the Tablet question, I purchase an iPad Air and I have no problems to transfer pictures, I also purchase a Lighting to SD Card Camera Reader, an Apple accessory for the iPad Air for about $30.00. The procedure to import photos from an SD Card is very simple:

1. Insert a memory card that contains photos or videos into the Lighting SD Card Camera Reader
2. Turn On iPad and attach the Lighting to SD Card Camera Reader to the Lighting port.
3. On iPad, select the pictures and videos that you want to import.

Hopefully this will help to answer your question. My advise will be to purchase the iPad.

Best Regards,

From what I remember the iPad screen does not show anything above 136dpi, at least that was about 2 years ago. So when you create an image for the iPad don't make it any larger than that or you are wasting storage space.

What I do is create the finished image, then make a copy from Photoshop to a size about 9x7 inches at 136dpi and send it to my self as an email attachment. I open the email with the iPad and then click "save image" and it is saved to the photo section on the iPad. That way you are not wasting tons of valuable GB storage space with high megabyte images. The photos look great and it is all I need in quality, to be viewed on the iPad.

Don't waste your precious GB space with large file images on an iPad.
