Is "you shouldn't have asked the question", followed closely by "here we go again" and "figure it out for yourself". These are never helpful, and generally demeaning to the person who posted the question.

It is anyone's option within the guidelines of UHH's policies to make such a comment. It is also my (and hopefully others') option to respond, "To the OP, please ignore that idiotic comment, the rest of us would like to help you."

I fully agree with you. If one has nothing helpful to say, one should say nothing.

No, sadly this comes too often from otherwise very helpful members.

Agreed...as my mom used to say...."if you don't have something nice to say ...don't say it."
We are all here to learn & hopefully encourage others along the way.

Interesting how wisdom endures:

Thumper: He doesn't walk very good, does he?
Mrs. Rabbit: Thumper!
Thumper: Yes, mama?
Mrs. Rabbit: What did your father tell you this morning?
Thumper: [clears throat] If you can't say something nice... don't say nothing at all.

True, since we all know how well the forum's search feature works.

I wonder if we didn't have the same mom. Was yours a nice lady, took good care of you and loved you, good cook and good looking? If so, that was her too.

Hi Sis.

Unfortunately, not everybody here is created equal. It would also be wishful thinking to think that people that own cameras are any different than a slice of the general population. And in the general population it takes all kinds. The only difference is that we have cameras in common.
Some of us are get road rage. Some of us drink more than we should. Some of us are angry at life, and some of us like to help. 😇

Freudian slip - and not a bad one at that!
