I have done business with Crutchfield. They are a very good company. I would rate them with Adorama, B&H, Cameta and Carter's Camera Cottage.

^^^Yep.

It's a family business and great customer service is one of their strongest values.

I would also put them up there with Adorama, B&H, Cameta, and KEH... REALLY good online retailers.

If you are seeking a used Canon lens from a very honest and reliable dealer, check out keh.com.

Crutchfield has been in business a very long time; maybe 35-40 years. They have the goods, but I would never equate them with "...a very good price on..."
I haven't dealt with them in a very long time but I think they're safe.

Agree. They never seemed to be a price leader.

Cameras and MOST of their electronics are sold at retail prices.

The savings come in with the lack of sales tax and free shipping..... ;)

Actually, there really isn't a lack of sales tax. In New Jersey for instance, you are required by law to report the purchase of items on the internet from out of state and pay the sales tax here. Of course, since its pretty much on the honor system, I'm sure very few know about it, much less actually report and pay it. In the future there may be better ways for states to monitor out of state online sales activity.

Sometimes just before they quit selling an item there is huge discount for a short period.
Got a Peachtree Audio Decco2 dirt cheap.

I agree completely. They're an old and reliable company for decades but that has been mostly in the field of audio equipment, ham radios, electronics in general, and such things. I would never have even thought of them in the realm of digital cameras to go shopping there although I get a catalog from them every year. I've never seen their prices as being killer on anything and sometimes even a little higher than other sources. Plus last time I looked they didn't have free shipping and that can really make or break a good deal these days.

I'd shop and compare Crutchfield prices with Adorama, B&H, and Amazon (not dealers working through Amazon but Amazon itself) before making your decision.

I have purchased many Audio/Video products over the years from Crutchfield and have found them to be a fantastic company. They accept no quibble returns, Speedy shipping, Lengthy return period, Knowledgeable CSR assist. Their pricing is in the average category. I believe it is Worth a few bucks more for all of the Crutchfield advantages.

Crutchfield has a very good price on a Canon lens that I am interested in. Has anyone on the forum made purchases with them and is it a good company to work with?

I've purchased from them several times. Excellent customer service! No hesitation in dealing with them again.
