I just got the notice that someone replied to your original post. I'm sure you did, too. Apparently it's not universal at all Targets. I suggested they keep going back.

I am also a Nikon Guy but Canon is way ahead on the point and shoot cameras. I just bought an SX50 to replace my Canon G11 but I haven't used the SX50 enough to comment.

You'll love it now that its been replaced by the upgraded SX 60.
you'll love the creative filters feature, mainly the color swap, & color accent, fish eye, & miniature effects, the 10 hi-burst mode, the 24-1200 zoom, the swivel back screen that you can take a selfie, or self portrait, & other goodies.
spend some time with your SX50 a lot, believe me you'll love the features.
