It was just your inner Ichabod coming out.

Thanks Jerry. Maybe I shouldn't have prefaced this with a Halloween theme ..... too many pre-suppositions.

No, it was William Washington's 3rd Light Dragoons at the Battle of Guilford Courthouse in March, 2014.

Thanks rp2s. The shot was from earlier in the year but it made a nice subject as I was looking for something to change into a silhouette. Since he was riding against a backdrop of green trees I preserved the color scheme "somewhat" but added some texture to "hint" at a forest.

The background bothers me a little. Not the color, that is just preference. It is the texture, looks like weathered stone rather than foliage. Maybe a stronger hint of foliage for texture? Hint of foliage, and hint of surface beneath hooves? Then the figure would have a world to be in. But, I could play what if forever.

Bottom line, no changes to this photo.

Thanks Jim ........ and, as you may have noticed, a continuation of my fascination with the "Dark side".

Thanks Bobbee. I don't know if you're talking about the Halloween poem or the horseman, but I appreciate it, whichever it may be.

Thank you MT. I suspect there is a lot more room for experimenting with silhouettes ...... I hope to keep it interesting.

I can't take credit for the poetry ..... those were the words to a Halloween song I learned when I was in elementary school. I thought the line "you hear the sound of running feet" went well with my dark horseman.
