You hear the sounds of running feet, but nothing can be seen,
And the strangest things can happen on a wild Halloween'

Thanks Randy. This is his cousin. The last time I heard, he was operating out of Maine.

Thanks flyguy. For me, the challenge with silhouettes has been to find a subject with a distinct shape that is easily recognizable.

Great silhouette. The steed's ear does it for me. And what a background! You have a wonderful imagination.

Thank you edie. Your comment about the ear is insightful - the small things count! I liked the reins and the boot in the stirrup as well.

Nice work, Bob. But something is missing and I can't decide what it is.

Creative and presented nicely. A good one to hang on a masculine themed den wall. 8-)

Thanks Jimjay. I'm not surprised something's missing .... this was my first shot at creating a digital silhouette from a regular photograph. I hope to get better at it, and maybe find all the missing pieces.

Thanks Bmac. I'd like to see this den you're talking about. Reminds of something my grandfather would have had in his cabin up north.

Thanks Ron. The horseman was actually a Revolutionary War Reenactor portraying a dragoon. They wear a leather helmet with horse hair streaming from the crown. You may see a closer look of that helmet here: http://static.uglyhedgehog.com/upload/2014/3/16/1395019319226-williamwashington_shorse_2014battleofguilfordcourthousereenatment.jpg

But yes, it looks very much like a practitioner of yabusame

Pretty good, I like it.
Someone commented that something is missing. Could be the giant moon in the background for halloween or a jack'o lantern?
You might want to put just a hint of surface beneath the horse's hooves.

Thanks Jerry. Maybe I shouldn't have prefaced this with a Halloween theme ..... too many pre-suppositions.
