The Metabones Mark IV for Canon lenses enables autofocus but for Nikon they seem to only have a Mark II, which does not.

The Mark IV costs $400, which is "real money" to some of us and may imply that getting this thing to work was real work for them ... which may explain why there are so few adapters like this available so far. Reading the small print, it turns out that they don't claim this to work with third party lenses, such as Sigma and Tamron.

Well, yea, getting the AF and apeture electrics to work must have been real work.

But if it allows you to use lenses that are worth several thousand each to you, that may be easy to justify.

Of course.
Part of my thinking here was that any time you cross boundaries like that, you have to do the equivalent of "looking both ways when crossing the street" - having one for Canon mount doesn't mean there will be one for Nikon mount, having one that works for Canon lenses doesn't mean that it will work for Tamron lenses, etc. Over time, much of this uncertainty will be sorted out, but we are still living in interesting times.

As mentioned, for landscape and low light, the Sony is probably the best option. For those having an interest, you will want to read this - http://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2013/12/sony-a7r-a-rising-tide-lifts-all-the-boats

Remember that we started out talking about Nikon auto-focus lenses on an A7S

You provided a large but unedited list.
Once you go through the list, you can see that
Yes, There are very few adapters that will provide auto-focusing
Yes, There are very few adapters that will work on A7S

Ooops!

I'm sorry; that's not the politically correct thing to say.

Let me see.... Oh yeah; THERE ARE PLENTY OF ADAPTORS FOR THE SONY A7S.

What the OP asked for is an adapter that will enable modern Nikon lenses to perform normally, that is provide auto-exposure and auto-focusing, on a Sony A7S.

Name-calling may make you feel clever, but it isn't helping.

Dumping a list of adapters may make you feel that you have won some kind of game, but it isn't helping.

This site is not really a place for playing games.

Please stop acting like a teenager.

Please specify one adapter that will meet the OP's need.

^^^There it is... on page one, message one.

You can throw up all the irrelevant straw men you like... all I know is that having a personal Troll is NOT as much fun as you think BEING my personal internet Troll is.

Find something else to occupy your time. Or seek therapy. Either way, PLEASE get off my back; it's getting boring.

There you go again!

You repeat the question, but once again you provide what lawyers would call a non-responsive response. The OP wants an answer and all you ever gave is a list of possible answers, none of which will provide auto-focus auto-aperture connection between his lenses and an A7S.

You list me as "your personal troll", but the first interaction between us in this thread was when you commented on my message. I was making a civil comment to someone else, and you just had to comment on my comment, and then using the term "woman" as though that were some kind of insult. If being to the point and addressing issues instead of personalities is a female trait, then female is a compliment not the insult you seem to think it is.

You may continue this name-calling if you want, but unless you have something productive to say, I'm going to ignore your trash-talk.

Well, a 'limited lens selection' seems a very good reason NOT to choose the Sony, and 'outstanding Nikon lenses' seems a very good reason TO choose Nikon.

IMHO, of course

For all.......how many different lenses do you really need? How many can you really afford? 2? 10? 25?

Is this really a "need", or is it a boys-with-toys situation?
