Weird things happening. Having trouble uploading photos. Bear with me.

Those are very nice. Great colors and flowers I've never seen before.

Thanks for dropping in and commenting, dar. Plenty of wildflowers around here - happy to share them with you!

More good shots from the swamp. I want to come down there now.

#1 and #4 - a Gerardia, probably Agalinis tenuifolia "Slender Gerardia" also called "Slenderleaf False Foxglove." We have a similar plant here in northern Michigan along the Lake Michigan shore, Purple Gerardia Agalinis purpurea.

#2 is a Blazing Star, probably Liatris spicata "Dense Blazing Star."

#3 is, as Dixiegirl says, "Wild Potato Vine" Ipomoea pandurata from the Morning-glory family.

Again, Mike, thank you for your comment and your ID's. I stumbled upon the swamps of the Pascagoula River a few months ago and fell completely in love with them. Now, I can't get enough of swamps and bogs! Come on down! There's plenty to share.

If we get another winter like the one we had last year in northern Michigan I may just move down there permanently!

I hear ya! I lived in Indiana for 8 years, through some record breaking winters. Even though I have endured (and not been phased by) winters far worse than what we had in lower Alabama, last winter was the most miserable I have ever experienced. I chilled to the bone early and didn't thaw out til spring! Of course, nothing like the north had, but an unusually cold winter for this area! Don't want another!

And a huge ditto added to that. They're predicting low 50s this weekend which will be nice, but I hope the early cool spell isn't a sign of things to come.

GREAT!!! Now I can just pull out the winter wardrobe and don't have to worry about doing laundry for a while!

Thanks for looking and your kind comments, Gene. I'm kinda partial to those itty bitty blooms, too!
