Great photos. Quite scary: I'm afraid to look at them on my large monitor :)

Hey, just wondering about the snap on macro lense. I didn't think the SX50 needed a snap on macro since it can focus to 0.0 inches. What did I miss?

With the SX50, you have to be at the WIDEST setting to focus at 0.0cm. The Raynox lenses enable you to use the TELEPHOTO settings of the lens at very close distances, therefore the enlarged view. If these were taken with ONLY the SX50, the subject would be a lot smaller and crawling all over the front element.

Now I understand.

Thank you for the explanation.

I believe the adapter lens adds the magnification factor I.e. true Macro. Lovely shots by the way. Absolutely terrific (or is that terrifying?) with incredible detail and sharpness. (This last part is meant for the poster and in turn the original photographer.)

These are outstanding "macro shots" Racmanaz. What type of lighting was used? What were the camera settings?

Photo guy, you can get the Raynox DCR-250 snap-on macro lens and snap it to one of the cameras you already own.

Cool. I will have to check that out. Thanks

Some nice images.... I shoot lots of macro & have a DCR150... I'll have to try it out on my macro lens... Have to switch to a speedlight with a softbox attached instead of my mini ring/point light though since this sits on the front of the lens also...

Images #1 & #3 look light full sunlight illumination, but in the reflection seen in image #2, looks like a speedlight mounted above camera.

Crop of image #2

OH sorry, it's so you can shoot with greater magnification from a further distance than normal. You would use this lens attachment at the max. focal length instead of the min focal length.
