Who needs to spend thousands of dollars when you can get macros like these photos. Taken by a friend (Cheryl Johnson) with a Canon Powershot SX50 and Raynox DCR-250 snap-on macro lens

Too close to the spider for me. Nice shots I like the detail in the water drop on the fly's eye.

They take nice photos but are out of my price range. I looked at them before I made my decision when I bought my new camera earlier this year.

Photo guy, you can get the Raynox DCR-250 snap-on macro lens and snap it to one of the cameras you already own.

Very impressive, especially considering that i have been known to call front element macro adapters as a piece of junk.
Thank you for making me reassess my opinion.
Just love the beautiful colour contrast of the last one.

Currently the SX50 is under $400 (360 some places) and the Raynox adds about $70-75.

Other than the Raynox 150 and 250, that would be correct. Most any of the others are generally not worth the time to put them on!

These are VERY good. Great job!

Did you use a flash or is this natural light? I see reflections in the jumping spider's eyes that remind me of a speedlite with a diffuser.

I would go all the way to WOW (esp #2) - and it looks like sun in #1 to me - too even on the foreground and background.

Great photos. Quite scary: I'm afraid to look at them on my large monitor :)

Hey, just wondering about the snap on macro lense. I didn't think the SX50 needed a snap on macro since it can focus to 0.0 inches. What did I miss?
