I'm new to UHH and this is my first post. I became interested in photography many years ago in the file era, but didn't do a lot. In the past couple of years, I began shooting in digital, and last year began learning PP using LR and PS. After viewing the good works posted on UHH, I realize I've got a lot to learn. Attached are photos I shot last year in Big Bend National Park. (I hope I sized then correctly). All shots were hand held using a Canon 7d with a Canon 17-85 lens. All comments and suggestions on how I can improve any aspect of my shooting and PP are welcomed.

Love the pictures and love the area. Big Bend is just an amazing place. Once called "the last American wilderness" although, not alot of trees. I'd go back again and again if I could. I've been told that the best time to visit is early spring after a wet winter. That way the desert comes alive with color. Yea it's a long ways from Dallas but well worth it. May I suggest also the Davis Mountains Observatory, the little town of Marfa, Ft. Davis and that entire area? Beautiful! Please be aware that if you do go, the Border Patrol will ask that you NOT get involved with what you may see possibly coming across the border, only that you report what you see. Oh, one other thing, a little known fact about Ft. Davis - their elevation is the same as Denver's - a mile high. You may be able to get a room in Terlingua, we didn't have much of a problem, but it's not the "Hilton" - if you know what I mean.
Yes, you are correct on all points. I've been to the Davis Mountains many times and also Marfa, but never had the luck to see the Marfa Lights. For the past two years I've attended the Cowboy Gathering (music and poetry) at Saul Ross College in Alpine. Quite an interesting experience.

Nice B/W shots. I'm just taking a B/W film class at my local college...we are developing our own film and prints. Something I haven't done in over 30 yrs, if ever. Yesterday I set my A77 to B/W so I can practice looking through the EFV and trying to get a good range for when I use my film camera. Developed my first roll in class today and the teacher said it looked like I had some good exposures to work with...We'll see on Monday! Manual everything is a different world than I'm used to.
